CITY SNOW REMOVAL POLICY
WEATHER PROCEDURES FOR FEBRUARY 1, 2021
The City of Covington would like to thank our Snow Removal Crews for the fantastic job that they have done throughout the early morning and day of this wintery weather snow event that occurred on January 31, 2021. Crews began working around midnight and have continued throughout the day. Communication has been fantastic and there were times our Public Works
crew advised dispatch of troubled vehicles and our Police Department responded in a timely fashion. We also have worked to take care of snow removal at our Fire Houses and the Recreation Department has taken care of things at City Hall and other areas. By mid-morning, we were seeing asphalt on our main thoroughfares. We have another busy 12-hour shift in front of us to help keep our roads throughout the City clean and accessible for motorists, and of course, freezing temperatures are a real concern. Please remember that temperatures are expected to drop in the later hours of this evening, and motorists are encouraged to be cautious and aware when having to travel.
Please direct any questions, comments, or concerns about road conditions that you may have to the Covington Police Dispatch Office at (540) 965-6333, or Monday to our Public Works Office at 540-965-6321 or 540-965-6322.
